My car randomly shuts off?

My car shuts off randomly usually when I put it into reverse mainly when I turn the wheel all the way either direction but only shuts off in reverse when turning the wheel all the way in park it stays on even if I turn the wheel what could it be?
Also, another thing I disconnected the negative on battery and it died so I changed the alternator, and it still shuts off when disconnected the negative terminal.

Yep, you must leave the battery connected because it acts as a voltage absorber, it's not like the old days of removing the battery cable to tell if there is a problem. We should run the codes to see what comes up. You could have a dirty throttle bore or a vacuum leak causing the problems.

So, I got an update on that, I tested the fuses to the ignition coils, and they worked but when I tested the 12v on the connector it didn’t work on the ignition coil that was bad. I checked another ignition coil and It worked, then I check the ground on the connector, and it worked on the bad ignition coil and the good one. So, could this mean that the computer/PCM is doing its job just something in the power wire too the connector is bad?

It has a rough idle in park but in reverse it shuts off after a second or two.

Also, all the codes that came up I already replaced the crankshaft sensor.

Thanks for the video, it helps but I cannot read the code sheet. Can you please take a clearer picture and upload it for me? It sounds like you may have an IPM going out. Please check for vacuum leaks and service the throttle bore. Let me know.

Wow, that is a bunch of codes alright. I am starting to think the IPM, or front control module is the problem. I would replace the IPM first because this is a well-known problem with these cars. Here is the location and replacement instructions for both in the images below. Please let us know what you find.

Hey ken,

I’m back. I’m finally getting time again to work on the truck. So, my question is that is they’re anyways I can test if the IPM or front control module is working or is it only a matter of buying a new one and finding out?
Another thing I try to look it up at a parts store like AutoZone but they don’t seem to have it for my specific truck
2006 Jeep grand Cherokee srt8.
It’s the 6.1L v8.

Yes, they are difficult to test on your own, a rebuilder has the equipment to do so.
