My car flunked the emissions test last month, said it had a speed sensor malfunction! We got that fixed.

I took my car back for emissions test today, the check engine light came back on, now it flunked again. It says incomplete monitors: EGR, EVAP, CATALYST. Diagnostic Trouble codes: P0500, P0600, I don"t know what the exact problem is to have it fixed or the money really. Can you explain to me what I can do please? Will a smoke test tell me exactly what the problem is?

Those aren't EVAP codes. They are monitors that haven't reset since you cleared the computer.

The P0500 is a vehicle speed sensor code and the P0600 is a communication link error that may or may not come back if cleared.
