Clutch replacement after engine off time?

My car clutch replacement after engine off time. Put 1st gear but car was moving.

With car running does it still try to move forward even if you have your foot pressing the pedal. Is it hard to put it in gear when running? I have seen where clutch disc gets stuck on the flywheel.
