Transmission problem

My car will start, but it will not move. The cluster lights up and stays stuck in park, but the shifter moves.

Scan for codes It may be the switch on transmission that tells cluster what gear you are in. A scanner would be able to point that out, but not one from an auto parts. A transmission professional will need to conduct the scanning for you with a professional grade scanner.
