My front brakes are locking up. So, then the car will not move at all. Replaced calipers, lines, and pads.

Hi,

Is this happening to both front brakes? Also, have you replaced the rubber brake hose to the calipers as well?

Do me a favor. Safely lift and secure the front of the vehicle so the tires are off the ground. If the wheel is locked, open the bleeder and see if that releases the brake.

Let me know. Also, let me know if they are always locked or if they release after a brief time.

Take care,

Joe

Hi,

You have a slight drag on the brakes at all times then. What happens is this. Brake fluid expands when it gets hot. With a small drag, slowly they will heat up without using the brakes at all. As this happens, the fluid continues to expand applying the brakes more and more.

Was anything done with the master cylinder or the brake light switch? If you look under the dash, does it appear the brake pedal may not fully disengage? I've seen the brake light switch move and hold the pedal slightly on causing this to happen.

Let me know.

Joe
