Okay, so I bought a 1996 Camaro for $800.00 the motor ended up blowing up on me. I have another motor that a friend is going to sell me, but before I buy it I want to know if it will fit. I know the motor that is in the car right now is a 3800 series V6 I don't know if it is a series 1 or if it is a series two but my friends motor is a 3800 series 3 supercharged V6. Please tell me it will fit.

Good morning,

The simple answer is yes it will fit.

You will need to know The model of the car it came from. You will need the wiring harness due to the addition of the supercharger. You will need a new exhaust as well. It will be bigger size pipes.

I attached a YouTube video for the engine removal.

It's coming out of a Grand Prix. But I do have another concern though because my Camaro is rwd and the Grand Prix is fwd almost positive.

The transmission will not work at all. You have rear-wheel drive.

The harness you will need should come from a grand national. That would be the same.
The transmission for the supercharged is a 700R4 transmission. That was standard for the supercharged motor.

Okay, so to my understanding I should buy the series 3 and not worry about the transmission. Will it mount in my car the right way as well as mount to my transmission?

Yes, it will fit. Then you will need to wire the engine to the car. It would be best to install the harness first before installing the engine. You will have a lot more room that way to run the harness correctly.

Yes, it will mount to the transmission.
