Hi,
I have to be honest. I only would recommend using an engine from the same year make and model. Because of electronics on the vehicle, if you change the engine type, everything has to change with it. It always leads to a headache.
I am dealing right now with a CM vehicle that had a newer engine installed and was the same size. The sensors, locations of sensors, and how they work are all different. Basically, the entire wiring harness, control modules, and so on are going to need to be replaced. Anything can be done, but to what expense. That is the problem.
If you do decide to install a new engine in the vehicle, I attached the directions and pictures below specific to your vehicle for removal and replacement.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you have other questions or need help.
Take care,
Joe
