Motor oil

I have forgotten to change the oil in my Saturn to the point that the "change oil" warning comes on. I will not be able to get to the oil change service center until later today.

Is it still safe to drive to work and back (twenty five mile round trip) today?

If not, is it safe to mix a different oil with the oil currently remaining in order to get safely through the day?

The light is only an indication of how many miles have been put on the vehicle since it was reset at the last oil change. Just make sure the oil is full and you will be fine. As far as mixing, I do not recommend mixing different weight oils, but brand is fine.
