Engine shut off and will not start

Driving home on highway lost all power motor shuts off going 70 mph, headlights and all power in car still working. however, it shut off and wont start what may cause that?

The crank sensor and or wiring have been known to go bad on these vehicles. Start with having the vehicle scanned for trouble codes. P0335,p0340 were codes that come up when crank sensors have failed, but there are tests that have to be performed in order to guarantee that.
