I have the truck listed above Triton 5.4 L. It runs great but I had this to happen to me four times. It seemed like I had a bad plug so I took it to the shop and I was told they couldn’t find a problem! Please listen to the video! What do you think is the problem? This happens I then press the gas a few times and it straightens out and runs great again.

That is most likely a collapsed lifter. What I would suggest is changing the oil and look for metal. You may have metal floating through the system that clogs a port of the lifter and it is not able to be pumped up.

Then you rev the engine and it pumps it up and is fine until it happens again.

Drain the oil into a clean pan and then swirl it around so that you can see the bottom or stain it through a painters filter or coffee filter. The coffee filter will eventually tear so make sure it is supported as if it were in a coffee machine. You should not have to do much to see the metal.

This could also be due to low oil pressure so what does your gauge read when this is happening?

Let us know what you find with this and we can go from there. Thanks
