So, I just changed the radiator fan and shortly after most of my dash lights came on and the speedometer wasn't working. I did the battery test for the alternator and the car died so I changed to alternator. Now I'm still having the same issues except now my car battery is completely drained, what could be the problem?

Hi,

How was the alternator tested? Have you checked it now to see if it is producing? If not, do that first. Here is a link that explains how it's done:

Next, which dash lights are staying on? Take a pic of them and upload them for me to see.

Let me know. Also, let me know if you have access to a scan tool that can scan the CAN-bus system. See link below.

Let me know.

Hi,

I am assuming this is a 2.5L, 4-cylinder. The P0500 is related to the cruise control function due to no speed sensor output. The P0793 is specific to the output speed sensor. Basically, it is indicating less than 300 RPMs.

Ignore the P0500 because it will go away once the P0793 is repaired.

I attached the diagnostics below for the 793. Take a look through them and let me know if you are comfortable performing them.

Take care,

joe
