Mode door replacement?

Hi,

The actuators you mentioned are two different ones. The mode door actuator is for airflow direction and the temp (heat) is a blend air door. I suspect you are referring to the mode door (air flow direction), so I attached the directions below.

If, however, you need the blend air door actuator (air temperature actuator), let me know if it is for the left or right side.

My local mechanic said it is a 7-hour job and wants $800.00 to do it. I was not able to tell by the photo what would be involved. Poor eyesight and at 80 it might be difficult, but it sounds like you have a way to do it without taking the dash apart. If we try I would need much better pictures/diagram than you sent before. I would be able to help and could look for better pics. However, I need to confirm if it is a mode door actuator or a blend air door actuator. Is it the airflow direction or temperature that is causing problems? If it is the temperature settings, which side is affected?

Mainly the temperature, sometimes the clicking happens even when the car is just parked or just opening the door will start it clicking. Thanks

If it is the temperature that is the problem, that is easier than the mode door actuator. Just to give you an idea, take a look through this link:

Is the air temperature affected on both sides of the vehicle? It should have a dual climate control design. Also, your support is appreciated simply by your return in the future and telling others. David, I attached the directions below. The only thing I see you may have an issue with is calibration after it is replaced. It requires a scan tool that can communicate with the module. Take a look at the directions. I attached the recalibration procedures in the last pic. Let me know your thoughts and questions.
