My car is making a loud moaning sound that increases in volume and intensity the faster I go, however it dissipates or gets quieter when I turn the wheel in either direction. I am not a car guy and could use any insight, do not want to dump a lot of money into it. Could it be bad wheel bearings?

Good afternoon.
Yes, it could be but it could also be steering as well.
Could you upload a video of the noise so I can hear the noise?

Hi,
This sounds like a wheel bearing but normally they are described as a growling noise. However, the fact that it gets quieter when you make turns points to a wheel bearing.
Is it possible to get a recording of the noise so that I can make sure we are on the same page?

Good. That sounds like the power steering pump whining.
Have you checked the fluid?
I would start by having the power steering flushed before talking about replacing the pump.
