I have a 1995 mitsubishi 3000gt with auto transmission and 148,000 miles. If I have been driving for a while and stop at an intersection, when I accelerate, a cloud of white looking smoke comes out behind me. The car drives fine otherwise, but this has been occuring on a more regular basis now. The longer I sit in one spot, the bigger the puff of smoke. It doesn't smoke while i'm driving, and whatever it is burns out a few seconds after i accelerate from idling at a stop. Any help would be very appreciated. Thank you. -Doug

It looks like you got condensation in the exhaust (coolant leak, water puddle, etc) when you go over a puddle water can get in your exhaust and create white smoke...or leak in your engine head or cover, allowing coolant to get inside the cumbustion chamber.
