I will start from the begining of my day and tell you every detail, so not to miss anything of importance.
Yesterday I was driving the car, on the highway when I noticed it was making a funny noise. Almost like metal on metal rubbing. So, I got off at the next exit where the car stalled before I could get it to the side of the road. After pushing my car to safety I examined the car to find it was overheated, but had not lost any fluid at that point. My fans weren't kicking on so I hard wired it to try to make it home, and that seemed to cool the car off quite quickly so I attempted the short trip. About 3 miles later the car started sputtering again, and this time the check engine light, oil light, and battery light came on. I waited a few minutes, but was desperate to try to get home with my 3 year old, as it was 104 where I'm at. When I started the car it blew white smoke from the exhaust and barely wanted to run. I made it home, but after the car cooled off I rechecked my fluids, and found I was almost out of coolant, and I had blown oil from my valve cover. I found a small hole in my radiator, so, I changed it to my old one, and fixed that problem. I checked my oil, and there were no signs of coolant like I cracked the head, but the car was running rough still. So, I changed the spark plugs, and the car is running a little better, but not enough to feel safe. And through the oil loss from the valve cover I'm still less than 1/2 a quart low. Please, if you have any suggestions, if you don't think I blew my husband's motor they would be greatly appreciated.
