I AM HAVING A PROBLEM WITH MY CAR STALLING. THE RPM'S DROP AND THE CAR SHUTS OFF. BEFORE IT DOES THOUGH I HEAR THIS CLICK CLICK, CLICKING SOMETIME THEREAFTER THE CAR QUITS. MOST TIMES IT GIVES ME ENOUGH TIME TO PULL OVER AND GET TO A SAFE PLACE TO ALLOW IT TO DIE. THEN IF I WAIT FOR ABOUT 10-20 MINUTES THE CAR WILL ALLOW ME TO RE-START AND DRIVE TO MY DESTINATION. AND I CAN JUST ABOUT TIME WHEN IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN. AFTER I LEAVE WORK IN THE EVENINGS AND GET TO A CERTAIN POINT THE CAR SHUTS OFF AS IF IT HAS GOTTEN TOO A POINT WHERE ITS TOO HOT TO CONTINUE. I AM AT MY WITS END. I HAVE RECENTLY COME ACROSS INFO THAT LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THAT IT MAY BE AN ECM PROBLEM. PLEASE HELP. I HAVE HAD THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER REPLACED AND THE MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR. STILL DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM.I AM AT MY WITS END?

This sounds very similar to a problem I had with my Renault Clio (Im in the UK) I could drive about 6 or seven miles then (usually at traffic lights) the car would set off and then die, I would pull over shut the engine down and wait for between 5 and 15 minutes, try again and the car would start and run fine. It turned out to be a crank shaft sensor. The mechanic showed me where it was and suggested to save money I buy and refit it myself. It was two bolts and easy access. After fitting a new one the car ran perfectly and never shut down again.

Im not a mechanic nor am I very knowledgable about cars, so I dont how relevant my info will be. Hope it helps.
