No real clue what engine is in this thing, 4g63 I belive
i've been taking it to shops trying to get my car back that I need to get to work, right now i'm using my dads car.

160,000 miles, ran good, though it could use a good cleaning engine wise.

I've been told many times to get an entirely new engine. I don't really want to. Wishful thinking implys I can just pop the top and put them in given the right tools. Maybe I could hone out any damge on the walls.
replace all the vavles and springs retaners.

basically i'm looking for some help finding an engine I want to put in this vehicle for a good price or some how fix this one for less then a new engine. Or the best deal for scrap metal.I like my talon, but my dad doesn't see it my way. He's already spent $3000 on the thing I don't blame him. 2 for the car and 1 to get it street worthy. Here in VA that got me 4 tires and an inspection sticker. Then the timing belt broke.

I think the best thing you should do is take it to a machine shop and get the engine bored out, that will make it like new. You can get the internals forged for like 400 buck brand new, these include pistons, crankshaft, rings, etc, but if you want to save and get stock internals, I can problably get you a nice deal from shops I know from FL. If you want a new head for the engine brand new, it runs like 600, but if you want a used one for almost new let me know.I can help you get one.I also got a 4G63, but heavyly modified.409 HP. Stick with that engine, just save ome money and do the reapairs right. If you go the cheap way its going to be unreliable. If you spend money on it you will have a reliable engine that will last. If you lived in FL.I would had help you get that car running under 1000 bucks in like 3 weeks.
