I have a 2001 mitsubishi mirage and up until yesterday everything has been fine...now everytime I don't accelerate the car shuts off....I let it sit for a few minutes and it starts back up again but if I have to brake and take my foot of the gas it shuts off. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

If you have a Manual transmisson... you need a new clutch and presure plate to maintain correct pressure on the clutch to allow the drave shaft to connect with the the turnning of the clutch to distribute power to the wheels.....

Automatic transmision....

You need a new trnasmission.... fuild is not being sent to the drive solinoids to keep the car running....
and with out the transmission fluid... the solinoids over heat and lock up wich makes your cars stop when you do not arcelerate...
