I recently put a new clutch kit, (pressure plate, throw out bearing, and remanufactured fly wheel) in. It was very touchy to take off with from the beginning and sometimes when I took off the motor died. About 2 weeks later the clutch plate was shredded on one side. I'm wondering if there is an adjustment or what could be wrong before I put in another plate. THANKS gpaia

Hi there,

I would be checking the pressure plate, or asking for a replacement unit from the supplier , mace sure that when you tighten up the pressure plate you do it evenly, dont do up one bolt tight and then the next, as this con distort the diaphragm and cause release problems.

I'll definately do this. THANKS! After reading your reply I went to the auto part store I bought it at and they are replacing everything. Should I replace the master cylinder since it's the only part I haven't. Can it cause this kind of problem?
