2003 Mitsubishi Montero miss fire

first the engine has a clicking noise from the lifter top cylinder later the scaner read cylinder 3 miss fire there was some oil on the plugs they change the camshaft lifters and some seals it work only for one day the sound is there and the oil is on the plugs again the scan says cylinder 3 miss fire

Check the compression on no.3 to determine if its valve or ring problem.
