My car shut off after start-up once car was put in drive. Took car to mechanic and they have told me that it seems a few gears hyave been burned out. I do not understand this because in the 2 yrs I have had this car there has been no indications of a problem with the transmission. Transmission fluid is good and the car has never stalled while driving or accelerating. What gives?

Hi edithgladys,

It could be due to some bushes wearing off and reducing the line pressures which would cause the planetary gears to overheat and wear off.
