Hi,

I have a 2003 Pajero/Montero, it has manual transmission.
I've noticed that whenever I put it into gear to start off, as I let go of the clutch I get a slight bump, same thing when I shift into 2nd, 3rd or sometimes even on 4th gear. But if I slowly let out the clutch and give it more gas I don't feel the bump much or sometimes there's nothing. What could be the problem? Is it the transmission or the rear differential?

thank you.

your description of the "bump is a bit hard to imagine. So I will suggest you start my checking the drive haft uni's first also foe a loose flange on the transmission or diff. Start here.
