Usually, not always, whe I turn the fan on for the air, there is a high-pitched squealing. When I turn the fan off, it quits. If I turn it on and it does n ot squeal, the air is cold. If I turn it on and it squeals, the air blows warm.

Check if the AC belt is loose if ok could be the compressor is locking up, sooner or later the AC belt will break
