Engine Performance problem
1992 Mitsubishi Montero 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I had white smoke after engine warmed up so I inspected heads so I got different heads had machine shop check them resurface new head gasket they did check for cracks as these were used heads. Put it back together and I still have the same white smoke after engine warms up and Ideas, Is this a cracked block?

Hi there,

get the cooling system checked for exhaust gasses, this is a simple test done with a chemical that reacts with exhaust emissions, there are tell tail signs of coolant in a cylinder as well, look foe a dirty brown deposit on the spark plug. How much coolant is the system using?

Hi there,

i would be checking the thermostat is OK and not stuck fully open as if the engine is running very cold the natural water vapor in the exhaust will show up as a vapor sometimes, i would still get the cooling system check done to make sure.
