My car has lack of power off the line but at higher speeds when I kick it down into passing gear it seems to have plenty of power. I also can hear some back fireing once in a while. A local machanic said it was two fuel injectors. I have listened with stethiscope and can hear injectors working and speeding up when engine is reved. This car has no egr system? I thought that was it but no. One injector under the plenum I could not hear, I could not get stethiscope on it? This car has no computer terminal to check codes from?
What would you suggest?
ps. I have changed the fuel filter and the plugs and wires. This car also dose not have a pcv valve, it only has a straight open tube into the valve cover? i HAVE DONE ALL THESE THINGS THAT HAVE BEEN SUGGESSTED IT EVEN JUST PAST I/M WITH FLIING COLORS!
COULD IT POSSIBLY BE THE COIL?

Change the fuel filter, and check the ignition timing. also check out your PCV valve and rubber hosings and elbows for cracks. also try some octane booster in the gas. check spark plugs and wires also.
