1999 Mitsubishi Mirage replaced dead battery

1999 Mitsubishi Mirage 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 65000. miles

i replaced the battery but i can't seem to get the battery terminals tightened so when i drive and come to a stop my car shuts off

You need to replace the old battery clamps with new ones-it shutting off because its not making good contact an alternator not charging the battery properly.
