1999 Mitsubishi Lancer engine head facing done

2 months before,coolent pipe from engine broken and enginre over heated,mechanic done head facing ,checked for head craks and fitted with new gasket,he said that few groves has formed inside cylinder.now car is ok with power milage and temprature,can i use this car for long drives ,is there any chance for over heating,is there any chance for future engine work,what precuations shall i take

If it doesn't within 5 mins of running time you're good just make sure you maintain the coolant/oil at all times to include other fluids
