2004 Mitsubishi Galant what could it be?

2004 Mitsubishi Galant 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

My daughters car was over heating. She says the radiator stays full but the reservor drains. At 1st the heating indicator would go hot and i think it no longer does that. what would cause her car to over heat and possibly it is not even the radiator

Leaky head gasket.

Check the oil often to make sure no coolant leaks into the crankcase.
