1999 Mitsubishi Galant Oil Light comes up while the car is

My car's oil light comes on whenever I stop at red light or the car is idle after driving it for a while. If I accelerate up the light goes off. It never comes up while the car is moving. I have checked the oil level and it is fine. Please advise what could it be. Thanks

Check the oil pressure with a mechanical guage if okay -replace the oil pressure switch.
