Hello. Received the code P1751 A/T Control Relay. The car has 115K. The issue I am having happens when I shift into reverse and then back into drive. It doesn't happen every time but sometimes the car will not move when the gas is pressed. I was told that this is because the car is in back up mode. Anyhow, I took the car to Aamco today and they told me it the problem had something to do with Hydraulic pressure and suggested that I have the transmission rebuilt for $1385. That is just labor unless they find parts that need to be replaced. Am I getting jerked around here? Should I get a second opinion? Lastly, do I even dare bring this car to a Mitsu dealer? The KBB on my car is only $1500.

Thank.

Take the car to another shop, (independant ones) or two and get a second or third opinion.

If everyone says to rebuild it, then from a cost standpoint you could also look for a used transmission at a junk yard.

If you could remove the transmission yourself you could maybe save $500.
