1997 Mitsubishi Galant cigarette lighter

i don't know what this thing is called (hole where we put the cigarette lighter) is not functioning. I'm having a hard time now, not because i can't light my cigarette but i can't charge my GPS while I'm driving. How can i fix this problem?

If you haven't check the fuse, check it. If the fuse is good, try plug something else in. If it doesn't work, you need to replace the cigarette lighter assembly.

Any auto parts store should have a similar assembly that you can just swap out. You may have to splice the wires though.
