1995 Mitsubishi Galant 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

i have transmission fluid leaking between from one of the cv-joint the tripod joint. If the cv joint isnt push way in can it cause the car not to switch into gears even if fluid is leaking. HI there,

If the drive shaft spline was so far out that no contact was made with the internal spline, the shaft would just about fall out, you would have no drive at all, make sure that the shaft locking "C"clip is ok and the shaft is locked in the diff, check the trans oil level, add if required, if there is no drive the transmission is faulty.
