Engine Mechanical problem
1996 Mitsubishi FTO 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

FITTED 2nd HAND MOTOR AND HAVING TROUBLES.UNDER NO LOAD THE VEHICLE REVS FREELY WITH A MINOR BACK FIRE ON FIRST ACCELERATION, UNDER LOAD IT BACK FIRES CONSTANTLY AND THE MOTOR FEELS RESTRICTED. HERE IS LIST OF THE THINGS WE'VE DONE.
timing belt
spark plug leads
injectors cleaned
Fuel
Fuel Filter
set of Spark Plugs
check ECU - all good

HAVE NOT REPLACED COILS

ANY IDEAS?? CHEERS

Hi there,

You say that you checked the ECU, did you actually do a diagnostic scan?

we removed the ecu and sent it out to a specialest to have it bench tested

With the ECU now a known, attempt a start and then do the scan as you should now get a fault code set.
