2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse premium fuel

The manufacturer reccomends premium fuel, but I've been running with regular and having no problems. I don't do a lot of "hard" driving. Will I experience any long term problems fron burning regular in this engine?

Performance may suffer, you might get a sort of bucking out of the engine...87 cheapo gas will leave more deposits in the engine....
