Thermostat Housing leaking anti-freeze? What does this mean?

the metal might have warped due to whatever reason. try simply changing the gasket or using some silicone.

Where is the thermostat located on a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT V6 and is it easy to get to?

Removal service point <> radiator lower hose disconnection Place mating marks on the radiator lower hose and hose clamp before disconnection.

The engine was running very hot I replaced the thermostat. Now the engine runs very cool and I get no heat. Have I done something wrong?

sounds like you installed thermostat backwards..ensure thermostat is installed correctly like picture below

Where is the Thermostat located on a 2000 mitsubishi eclipse. I think its near the back by the battery but not sure.

Your car has two radiator hoses, upper and lower. Follow the upper hose to the engine. The housing the hose is connected to houses the thermostat inside. Remove the hose and you will see some bolts on that housing, take those off and you should be able to get to the thermostat. Just remember to get a new gasket too.

thermostat is located in the thermostat housing where the upper radiator hose meets the engine,

the heater core is located under the dash in the air ducts.
