2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse replacing trans

i am replacing the trans but the throw out bearing will not seperate this is a forward actuating clutch system i cant find any info on why it wont release

Hi there, The thrust is retained by a wire clip and when removed it should slide off the nose of the gear box.
