1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse

Ive noticed that the insrument and gear shift light stopped working. It happend right after I installed a radio. The fuses are fine and so are the bulbs. Any ideas? Cause I read online that if I connected the illumination wires (which didnt match both orange, one with a white line)that it can damage the dimmer circuit. Do you think this is my problem?Any help would work THANKS

Disconnect the battery-if you have the lights back you're hooking the radio wrong verify the wiring

I did. The wireing is right as I can see no burned wires or ends left open. Im doing everything. The radio works but the lights stoped what if I blew thw dimmer circuit when attaching the illumination wires? Thats the only thing I have left to check.I even took the radio out and all the attachments to the radio and the lights still dont work.I dont know what I did. Please help.
