1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse idle up and down

1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 25mpg miles

when i start my car to warm up it idles fine for about 5 to 10 minutes then the idle starts to jump up and down from about 1000 to 2000 rpms for about 20 minutes. then once it starts to idle where its supposed to and i push in the clutch to stop the idle falls down to 400 or 500 rpms and sometimes dies

Try cleaning out the Idle Air Control Valve and see what happens.
