I can't crank my 96' mitsubishi eclipse. I found Indeed an unplugged white connector just below the dashboard at the driver's side. The problem is, I already looked many times but I can't find where I should plug this connector, any hints? Should I remove some parts of the steering column in order to found the correct place to attach the connector? It's white, rectangular shape, has 12 pins but only 9 wires...(See picture, please)

Thanks a lot,
Joao Paulo

Update: I just removed the plastic covers of the steering column, but I still don't see any place to plug that wire... everything seems to be plugged inside the column... other suggestions?
Thanks!
