How low is low? Have you done a leak down test to determine what is causing the low compression?
Until you know what is happening changing anything would be a bad idea. Especially as loss of compression in one cylinder usually means an internal engine issue, not anything external.
Do a cylinder leak down test on the low cylinder and see where it leads.
