The fuel meter does not show max even if tank is full. Yesterday, I filled tank full and the meter was showing little less than full. I ran a few miles but today the meter showed E (end). What might be the problem and how can I correct it?

Inspect and test the fuel gauge sending unit in the fuel tank.
