1998 Mitsubishi Diamante 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

When i start my car it starts but at the rear of the car there are some mini explosion sound. also when i put it in reverse or in drive it does not move even though i press the gas pedal. Also when i try to rem it up i press the gas pedal but it won't do anything until i have pressed the pedal for around 5 mins. can you help me?

first it sounds like you have a clogged catalytic converter. but also you may want to check your transmission fluid and fill if necessary, let me know what happens.
