Engine missing on startup?

2002 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX

For the last couple weeks when I start up and take off cold, my car misses for a few then stops. there's no check engine light on so I don't know what it could be, do you?

I would start with a tune up, new spark plugs and wires, also service the throttle bore and IAC. I have also seen the coil pack go bad, but I would start with the plugs and wires. This guide can help walk you through the service with instructions in the images below for your car:

1.52 mm (0.060 in)

Isn't ac 41-101 spark plug the right one to use?

The book is calling for a

Spark Plug .................... AC Type 41-940

This plug might have been superseded.
