Missing a fuel part

i have this missing fuel part. i came to know from the traffic authorities as they will not allow me to drive the car when i went for inspection of car.
i have no idea what the part name is and what is it used for and i am not able to attach picture. it connected from fuel tank under the fuel filling lid.
wish if i can attach the picture.

Do you have a gas cap on the fill neck?

This is the part I think it is connected from canister.

NO IT'S THIS PART

seems to be connected with the canister

This looks like the vent solenoid. It does attach to the the canister.
