Thermostat stuck the truck got hot theres no water in the oil ive pulled all the plugs no water there its missing an geting hot in about 5 mins with the thermostat out

it sounds like either you have a clogged radiator or you have a bad head gasket. you can get a chemical kit at a parts store to verify the head gasket

I stared tairing down to the head gasket an took the valve cover off an found a rocket arm off the push rod with there being no water in the oil or on the piston would the head gasket be ok

why would you do this without verifying it is bad???

a rocker arm off will not cause the overheating
