After backing out of an icy, snow-covered driveway, and tearing up the underbody, the engine light started flashing and giving a code for a glow relay (which I'm aware is only relevant on diesel engines). The car accelerates normally through 1st and sometimes 2nd okay with occasional jolts, but when trying to go into 3rd the car jolts and loses the ability to accelerate, tries to jump to 4th, jolts again and will either go to 5th, or go back to 2nd depending on my speed. Sometimes in automatic mode it will catch fourth with little power but other times it will not. In manual slapshift mode I have no power whatsoever in 3rd or 4th. I was told I had a bent radiator support and other things possibly bent underneath. That is the extent of my knowledge of the problem.

Hi Dave,

What is the actual code that you found when scanning the computer? Also, I need you to check under the vehicle and confirm there are no leaks, and the transmission cooler and lines were not damaged.

I attached a pic below showing the cooler. Inspect that as well. We may have a partially punched cooler line limiting line pressure.

Let me know.

Thanks for the quick reply, Joe. I can't remember the exact code but I do remember it said something about a glow relay, and since I don't have a diesel engine equated to a sensor malfunction so I'm told? I did not get an attached image, but I can confirm no leakage as far as I can see. I really didn't think i was that rough on it. Nothing hanging, just a broke plastic casing to something and slightly bent tailpipe support and radiator support.

Dave,

I'm not sure why the pic didn't attach. I tried again. Let me know if you get it. Also, let me know what plastic part was damaged.
