When starting it, I have to wait a few seconds, or it won't start. When initially accelerating, it is sputtering and backfiring, as well as bogging down and not wanting to accelerate. It also does this in higher gears as well. It is jerking to the point it feels like the whole motor is jumping. I've ran fuel injector cleaners through it and believe I've narrowed it down to the coil pack or the parks plugs and wires.

Hi,

It could be related to the ignition system. Have you scanned the computer to see if there are misfire codes stored? Also, does the check engine light flash when this is happening?

Next, often times these symptoms are the result of too much or too little fuel to the engine. When driving, do you ever notice any dark gray or black smoke from the exhaust? Any odd odors or sounds?

Here is a link you may find helpful; it discusses how to fix a backfiring issue:

Let me know if that helps and if you have diagnostic trouble codes related to this issue. If you don't, have the computer scanned. Most parts stores will do it free of charge.

Take care,

Joe
