If the light is flashing, I wouldn't recommend running it until we get it figured out. The flashing indicated a misfire is occurring which can cause raw fuel to make its way to the converter and damage it. Take a look through these links.

What I need you to do first is scan the computer for diagnostic trouble codes. This will point us to which cylinder has the misfire and then we can focus on it.

I realize most people don't own a scanner, but most parts stores will do it for free or lend / rent a scanner to you. This needs done to identify where we need to focus. Otherwise, it becomes a guessing game. If you already did this, let me know what codes were found.
