We were driving and check engine light came on. Ticking noise developed. Went home. Removed valve cover . Intake valve rocker arm loose. Collapsed lifter. Can it be reprime without removing?

Thanks for visiting 2CarPros.

Unfortunately on this model and this year specifically lifter failure happens and requires replacement. You'll have to remove the intake and heads to replace the lifters and guides. This is around a 14 hour job and parts cost is $500.00 to $600.00 for lifters, guides, gaskets and head bolts. I'll post the basic instructions below.

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the cylinder head and gasket.

2. Remove the valve lifter.
3. Clean and inspect the valve lifters.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the valve lifter.

2. Install the cylinder head and gasket.
