Vehicle recently began to overheat. Noticed that octopus line on the radiator was leaking. Change the new hose change the thermostat reassembled it and now I am getting a number for misfire with a crankshaft and camshaft cold coming up. This morning I went outside to check my coolant level. It was down about a quarter from the fill line started the car to add some more, and check engine light came on with the message of try to slow down or shift up. Went to AutoZone got a code reading and he said it was a number for misfire with a code reading for the crankshaft and the camshaft. Before the overheating began the car ran perfectly fine, nothing was wrong, never had a misfire, never had a check engine light. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Hi,

The idea that it overheats, the coolant was low, and you have a cylinder misfire, leads me to want the head gasket checked. Do me a favor. Take a look through this link and perform all the things you can without purchasing anything and let me know what you find:

Let me know what is found. Also, if you could let me know what the codes were that AZ found, it will be helpful. I suspect one is a P0304, but the others are where I'm interested.

Take care,

Joe
